Sadness FM’s debut album is an experimental electronic transmission from the spaces between memory, desire, grief and the present moment. Moving through dark ambient, breakbeat, trip-hop, darkwave and fractured club rhythms, the record shifts from haunted introspection and restless dance-floor energy to intimacy, ritual, remembrance and quiet release. Its songs find strange beauty in emotional wreckage, whether through lost love, mortality, longing, boundaries or the people who remain with us after they’re gone. Dark without becoming hopeless and melancholic without standing still, the album ultimately arrives somewhere warmer: a reminder that after all the noise, ghosts and unfinished business, there is still life happening now.
Created through human-led writing, production and art direction, with generative tools used as part of the creative process.
TRACK 01
Veil
Veil lives in the blurred space between isolation and the desire to be seen. Cold electronic textures, fractured rhythm and distant vocals surround a lyric about hiding beneath the layers we use to protect ourselves, even while quietly hoping someone will notice what is underneath. Sparse, vulnerable and unresolved, the track opens the door into Sadness FM’s darker interior world.

Hour in a Shell
Time bends strangely inside Hour in a Shell. Built from softly frayed breakbeats, heavy sub-bass and distant, radio-like vocals, the track reduces language to a handful of surreal images and lets atmosphere carry the rest. It is a small, suspended piece about solitude, memory and the peculiar way an hour can feel enormous when you are alone inside it.

Havoc on the Dance Floor (Remix)
Restless, confrontational and deliberately unstable, Havoc on the Dance Floor (Remix) pushes Sadness FM into its most kinetic territory. Glitch, fractured electronics and a relentless pulse turn the dance floor into a place for disruption rather than escape. There is humour in the chaos, but also defiance: sometimes making a mess is the point.

Harder to Breathe
Intimacy becomes claustrophobic in Harder to Breathe, a dark electronic track where desire, physical closeness and loss of control begin to blur together. A driving pulse and deep low end sit beneath fragmented, sensual vocals, creating something that feels seductive and slightly dangerous at the same time. The closer everything gets, the less air there seems to be.

Sucker for Your Love
Seduction gets expensive in Sucker for Your Love. What begins as a late-night invitation slowly reveals a relationship built around appetite, exhaustion and the familiar mistake of letting someone back in because you already know exactly how the night will go. Dark electronics, heartbeat-like bass and whispered textures keep the track playful and sexy while the lyric quietly asks who is actually being consumed.

I Hope It Hurts
I Hope It Hurts sits in the uncomfortable place between moving on and still wanting the other person to feel some of what they left behind. Wounded, resentful and unexpectedly tender, the song admits that heartbreak does not always resolve into perfect forgiveness. Its darker electronic treatment strips away some of the original pop brightness and leaves the emotional bruise exposed.

Salt Circle
Salt Circle is a song about boundaries made physical. Ritual imagery becomes a language for protection, resolve and deciding what is no longer allowed to cross the line. Slow, weighty rhythm, deep bass and dark electronic textures give the track the feeling of a private ceremony: not fearfully shutting the world out, but deliberately choosing what/who gets access.

Marigold Night - Baila Conmigo
A warm electronic remembrance built around the idea that grief and joy can share the same room. Marigold Night - Baila Conmigo draws on Día de Muertos traditions of photographs, food, flowers, music and storytelling, turning memory into a dance rather than a goodbye. Tape-worn breakbeats, deep low end and distant voices give the track a dreamlike quality, while its refrain asks for just one more dance with someone still carried in the heart.

The Garden of Now
The Garden of Now is a reflective electronic song about slowing down, making peace with time, and noticing what is already here. Moving through thoughts of aging, inheritance, memory and mortality, the track balances melancholy with a quiet sense of reassurance. Its restrained production and close, natural vocal delivery give the song room to breathe, while the repeated chorus becomes a simple invitation to step out of the rush and return to the present.
